2026 Taylorsville YSA Stake Council Speaking Assignment Matrix

Please speak to the topic assigned by the Stake Presidency and contact the Bishopric to coordinate the assigned topic well in advance of your assignment date.

Speaking Assignment Instructions

As members of the Taylorsville YSA Stake Council, we are asked and approved to carry the Stake Presidency's assigned messages to the members of each ward in the Stake. The Stake Council speaks in pairs to the wards as speaking companions every other month throughout the year, beginning in January. They speak on the topics chosen by the Stake Presidency. The assignment schedule is contained in the matrix above which may change as members of the Stake Council change throughout the year. Please refer to the following instructions to fulfill this part of your calling on the Stake Council. Your lives will be blessed as you prepare and share messages and bear testimonies of Christ with your fellow YSA saints.

Married HCs speak as companions with their wives in the wards to which they are assigned. YSA HCs speak as companions with YSA sisters on the Stake Council. The HC is to take the lead in coordinating the topics, speaking order, etc., with their companion speakers and with the ward bishoprics where they are assigned to speak. Please assure the bishoprics that you and your speaking companion will occupy the entire meeting, typically 12 to 15 minutes each. We strongly recommend that nothing but a congregational hymn or special musical number be scheduled the week you are to speak.

If you are unable to fulfill your assignment, please notify your speaking companion and work together to find an alternative Sunday to speak in the assigned ward or a substitute speaker for the assigned Sunday. First look to find an available substitute among others on Stake Council members and make necessary arrangements accordingly. Please let Rich Matheson on the HC know of any such changes or if you need help finding a substitute. Sometimes this needs to happen quickly, to cover for sudden illness, etc. Sometimes, you may be asked to trade months or to give your talk in two wards the same day and/or with different companions to help all of us fulfill the Stake Council's speaking commitment to the wards.
